Elena Stenholm is Vice President of Finnish airport operator Finavia, and in charge of Commercial Services at Helsinki Airport.
She graduated from the University of Helsinki with a Master’s Degree in International Politics and Economics, and also holds degrees in Marketing and International Trade. Elena has extensive experience in strategic and operational leadership and business development in airport, retail and real estate businesses.
Her expertise covers the whole value chain from supplier to consumer in an omnichannel environment including purchasing, marketing, logistics, B-to-B sales and business development. She has also worked with development of different store formats and the commercial offering of shopping centres, as well as digital solutions for developing new business opportunities and operating models.
Elena’s recent activities as Vice President include developing Helsinki Airport’s consumer-driven businesses of nearly 100 stores including travel retail, F&B, hotels, services, parking, advertising and B-to-C marketing. Helsinki Airport is the leading Northern European hub for long-haul flights, and a popular transit point for air traffic between Europe and Asia. The airport is currently investing €900 million in improving its services and infrastructure, and expanding passenger facilities.
