Ivo Knuesel is the Head of Category Planning at Mondelez World Travel Retail, a position he has held since October 2015.
Before joining Mondelez International (then named Kraft Foods) from GlaxoSmithKline in 2004 he had built a wealth of experience from having held a number of positions in the finance, pharmaceutical and automotive industries.
Ivo led the sales operations function at Mondelez World Travel Retail, where he was named Regional Manager for the Americas in 2010. He successfully guided the growth of the company’s business in the key Americas region.
Following the company’s shift to a retailer-based structure in 2015, Knuesel was promoted to lead the newly created Category Planning function, which was responsible for implementing insight-based category strategy and activations, and translating Mondelez World Travel Retail’s ‘Delighting Travelers’ vision into customer development programmes. Under his leadership the Category Planning team has introduced strategic initiatives that have embraced the changes in the evolving travel retail landscape, and continued to excite and engage travellers while driving conversion, basket size and purchase frequency.
