Andrew Ford
Andrew Ford has a thorough knowledge of the global airport commercial and travel retail industries, especially as it pertains to improving strategies and enhancing retail revenues.
His career started with 12 years at Allied Domecq, internationally marketing and selling the company’s portfolio of wine & spirit brands (e.g. Ballantine’s, Courvoisier) – particularly in the duty-free channel of trade and Asian domestic markets. He subsequently became CEO of Tax Free World Association, the world’s largest luxury brand association with 300+ members (Chanel, Habanos, Diageo, Mondelez, etc.), where he focused on developing the global travel retail industry.
In 2006, his fondness for Asia brought him to Hong Kong as Vice President, Global Business Development with DFS Group, the international duty-free retailer majority owned by LVMH.
In 2016, Andrew developed Paccaya Resources Ltd as an advisory firm based in Hong Kong. The team works with multiple clients (airports, governmental tourism authorities, and some exclusive luxury brands) to develop strategies and improve financial returns from downtown and airport travel retail. Throughout his career Andrew has worked with most airports in the Middle East and Asia, and a number in Europe and the Americas (see www.paccaya.com).
During his career Andrew has been an Executive Board member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, and both board member and President of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association. He is very much involved with the global airports association, ACI; currently sits on the AsiaPacific Advisory Board and World Economic Standing Committee; and is Chair of the Airport Non-Aeronautical Revenues and Activities Committee. He recently stepped down as Chair of ACI’s WBP Advisory Board.
