With over twenty years of experience in airport advertising, Jonathan brings a unique and refreshing perspective to the business that comes from having worked on both sides of the business, as advertising concessionaire to airports and on behalf of the advertisers themselves.
After starting his career at JC Decaux, Jonathan moved to the media buying side of the business, where as CEO of Aviator Media, he oversaw its expansion into the world’s largest specialist media planning and buying agency for airport advertising.
In 2011 Jonathan moved to Clear Channel where his achievements included the acquisition of new concessions to manage the advertising business at Rome Fiumicino, Venice Marco Polo and Bologna Marconi airports and the successful rewarding of contracts at Oslo, Finland and Zürich airports.
In terms of standout projects, Jonathan was responsible for the transformation of the advertising business at Rome and Venice airports, both now regarded as international benchmarks in how to design, develop, install and optimise revenues from digital media. His final project before heading to southeast Asia was the commissioning and project management of the “Chandelier” at Fiumicino, now widely regarded as one of the most spectacular advertising – experiential – artistic airport installations in the world.
Jonathan resides in Malaysia where as COO of VGI Global Media’s airport business, he is responsible for managing exiting advertising contracts with KLIA and Senai airports and spearheading the expansion of VGI’s business across the region. In his free time you’ll bump into him either on the golf course or desperately trying to cling onto his past by running out for the veterans KL Tigers rugby team.
