SINGAPORE. The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has revealed a strong line-up of speakers for the APTRA Exchange panel discussion, themed ‘Navigating the Headwinds’, scheduled as part of The Trinity Forum 2022 (1-2 November) in Singapore.

The Trinity Forum is owned by The Moodie Davitt Report and co-organised with ACI World and ACI Asia Pacific. The event is hosted this year by Changi Airport Group.

The APTRA Exchange (2 November) will explore the dynamics and challenges surrounding industry recovery. These include logistics and supply chain issues; labour force shortages and changes in the employment market; and inflationary pressures on operators in the wider travel ecosystem and on consumer spending power.

The Trinity Forum returns after a three-year, pandemic-driven absence. Click on the image to register or for more details.

The four APTRA Exchange panellists are:

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) CEO Liz Ortiguera will provide an update on travel and tourism including visitor arrival forecasts, destination strategies and sustainable travel industry trends from across Asia Pacific and beyond from PATA’s extensive membership base and industry network.

Asian hospitality is often called out as world class and Ortiguera will bring to the conversation the all-important role of people within the sector. She will discuss her and PATA’s drive to maintain such high standards and why, to boost recovery from the pandemic, it has never been more important to create a great workplace, job conditions and career paths for people working in travel and tourism.

Partnerwise Boardroom CEO Salvatore Arico will share his perspective on manpower dynamics and workplace trends impacting travel retail in Asia Pacific and beyond. Formerly Chief Global Organisation and Transformation Officer at Dufry and a board member at Hellenic Duty Free, Arico is a highly experienced expert in people leadership and development, from shop floor to board room in the retail and consumer brands sectors. Tuli, speaking in his capacity as APTRA President, said, “I am absolutely delighted to welcome such an exciting line-up of experts to join me at the APTRA Exchange to bring their professional perspectives to this discussion. Our focus is on key macro issues and trends that affect us all in travel retail and yet are rarely discussed in a public forum. On behalf of APTRA I would like to thank Liz, Salvatore and Sandra for their time and contribution. We would also like to thank Bacardi for their valued sponsorship of the APTRA Exchange.”
