QATAR. With less than a month to go, The Trinity Forum continues to draw a stellar speaker line-up, with more industry leaders joining the programme ahead of the 5-6 February event in Doha.

The world’s most influential airport commercial revenues conference will be hosted by Qatar Airways, Hamad International Airport and Qatar Duty Free.

Adding prestige to the speaker line-up is Sarah Branquinho, the newly elected President of the Tax Free World Association (TFWA).

The stellar speaker line-up includes the highly respected TFWA President Sarah Branquinho

The highly regarded Branquinho, who also serves as President of the Duty Free World Council and Chair of Women in Travel Retail +, is the first woman President in TFWA’s 41-year history.

With extensive leadership and commercial expertise, she played a pivotal role in the duty- and tax-free sector’s campaign against the abolition of intra-EU duty-free sales, serving as Secretary General of the European Travel Research Foundation from 1995 and European Travel Retail Confederation since 2012.

Her commercial career includes senior roles at BAA and World Duty Free, later expanding her remit to Aldeasa following Autogrill’s acquisition of the Spanish travel retailer. She was later appointed Director of External Affairs for Dufry, now Avolta.

Most recently, Branquinho led the industry’s seminal, evidence-based campaign that resulted in the WHO’s decision at MOP4 to close discussions on any link between duty-free sales and illicit tobacco trade, marking a definitive end to allegations which the industry has always strongly disputed.

SSP Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Coveney will bring his extensive industry expertise to the discussion

The Forum will also feature SSP Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Coveney, who will join a panel on ‘Walking the Walk in True Partnership Style.’

Since taking on the role in March 2022, Coveney has driven SSP’s growth by navigating the post-pandemic recovery in travel dining and spearheading key acquisitions in North America and Asia.

He offers deep expertise in the food industry, having spent 14 years as CEO of convenience food producer Greencore Group and holding non-executive roles at multiple international F&B companies.

Newmark Executive Managing Director Simon Black is set to join industry experts as they explore what’s next for travel retail

Adding to the line-up, Newmark Executive Managing Director Simon Black will engage in the discussion ‘Brave New World – A Visionary Exploration of Travel Retail’s Future, 2050-style.’

Black brings more than 25 years of experience in airports, duty free and luxury retail, including Heathrow, Stansted, World Duty Free, Dunhill and Smythson.

A champion of innovative airport retail, he was instrumental in LVMH’s 2012 expansion in the channel with directly operated boutiques, launching Louis Vuitton’s store in Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.

Since joining Newmark in 2016, he has developed the aviation and travel retail division into a globally influential consultancy, providing strategic guidance on €10 billion in transactions and key brand consumer strategies.

He is also a frequent speaker and collaborates with leading industry organisations such as TFWA and ACI to influence the future of travel retail.

Morpho Travel Experience CEO Adriana Echandi will share her expertise on integrating culture to enhance a sense of place in retail environments

Also on the agenda is Morpho Travel Experience CEO Adriana Echandi, delving into ‘Localisation and Cultural Storytelling in Retail.’

A Costa Rican business leader, Echandi has redefined travel retail in Latin America with experience-driven, culture-led concepts. Rising from the sales floor to executive leadership, she drives operational excellence while championing sustainability and inclusion.

Under her leadership, Morpho has expanded across multiple countries and key airports, integrating local culture into global travel environments.

She also leads the Comunidad Latinoamericana de Artesanos and serves on boards promoting entrepreneurship, governance and education.

The Trinity Forum is owned by The Moodie Davitt Report and co-organised in a highly successful long-term partnership with Airports Council International (ACI) Asia Pacific & Middle East and ACI World. From 2026, ACI Europe also joins as a partner, which marks a significant enhancement to the event’s scope and influence.

To be held at The St. Regis Doha, the conference will feature a robust programme addressing critical topics, such as evolving passenger behaviours, digital transformation in retail and sustainable revenue strategies.

The preliminary agenda (subject to change) has been previously announced, with additional high-profile names set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
