HONG KONG, CHINA. The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to announce that China Duty Free Group (CDFG) Executive Vice President & Board Secretary Luke Chang (Chang Zhujun) will address The Trinity Forum 2023 in Hong Kong, to be held on 25-26 October.

CDFG has also become a Platinum Partner for the event, which is hosted this year by Hong Kong International Airport.

CDFG is the world’s number one travel retailer by sales, according to The Moodie Davitt Report’s annual benchmark rankings, a position it has held since 2020.

The highly regarded Chang has more than 26 years’ experience in travel retail. In his capacity as CDFG EVP, he has responsibilities for all activities related to buying, merchandising and brand business development. He also leads CDFG’s Central Merchandising Team.

Chang said, “China Duty Free Group is very delighted to be a Platinum Partner once again of The Trinity Forum 2023. We welcome the return of the Forum to Hong Kong, China again, home to one of the most excellent airports in the world.

“As the world’s leading travel retailer, we are looking forward to exchanging ideas, embracing innovations, and building strong partnerships with our global airport and brand partners at this event.”

The Trinity Forum, the industry’s most influential airport commercial revenues event, created and owned by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2003, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The event is co-organised with Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and ACI World.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “It is our pleasure and privilege to welcome China Duty Free Group as a Platinum Partner of The Trinity Forum in this auspicous 20th anniversary edition. From my Hong Kong, China base, I have watched and chronicled CDFG’s extraordinary progress over recent years, rising from 19th in our Top Travel Retailer rankings in 2010 to number one spot a decade later.

“And it’s  not just about sales volume. CDFG has also led a qualitative revolution of travel retail in China, led by the acclaimed cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex and the magnificent cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex opened in late 2022.

“We are equally honoured by Luke Chang’s participation as a keynote speaker and delighted that our audience will benefit from his great travel retail knowledge and insight. Hong Kong International Airport is home to one of CDFG’s best operations – Duty Zero by cdf – so it is particularly appropriate that he will be speaking as The Trinity Forum returns to China for the first time since 2018 and to Hong Kong for the first time in eight years.”

The Trinity Forum programme can be accessed here. Further big-name speakers and partners will be revealed this week.

The Trinity Forum 2023 has garnered tremendous industry support with Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail joining as a Diamond Partner and Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail, CAVU, DFS Group, Diageo Global Travel, L’Oréal Travel Retail, Nestlé and Qatar Duty Free all signing as Platinum Partners.
