HONG KONG, CHINA. The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to announce that DFS Group Chairman and CEO Benjamin Vuchot will address The Trinity Forum 2023 in Hong Kong, to be held on 25-26 October.

Hong Kong is one of the luxury travel retailer’s two original heartlands (along with Hawaii), DFS having opened at the old Kai Tak Airport back in 1962.

Today DFS has a thriving, multi-store downtown operation in the Special Administrative Region, part of a powerful retail footprint across Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China, complemented by a diverse downtown and airport store network around the world.

Vuchot’s presentation will be themed: ‘Exploring Luxury Travel Retail in 2030 – A Glimpse into the Future.’ He said: “I’m thrilled to be part of The Trinity Forum, alongside industry leaders and innovators. Together we’ll tackle today’s challenges and shape our industry’s future.

“Let’s come together, share ideas, and spark innovation. I look forward to inspiring change and collaboration at this event.”

DFS Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Boutiques at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Terminal 3A – the first concession the travel retailer has won on the Chinese Mainland in a domestic terminal – was inagurated earlier this month. Look out for our exclusive interview with DFS China President Nancy Liu in the next edition of The Moodie Davitt Report Magazine, published to coincide with The Trinity Forum and TFWA World Exhibition in October.

The Trinity Forum, the industry’s most influential airport commercial revenues event, created by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2003, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The event is co-organised with Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and ACI World.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “We are honoured and delighted that Benjamin Vuchot will address this year’s Trinity Forum as the event makes a welcome return to China amid an increasingly encouraging travel retail recovery in Asia.

“As a constant flagbearer for excellence and innovation – digital and in-store – for our industry, DFS’s presence at The Trinity Forum is a major boost for the event.

“Delegates can be promised a highly stimulating, forward-thinking and challenging presentation from Mr Vuchot, one of the most astute leaders in the travel retail sector.”

The prestigious Rosewood Hotel will serve as a magnificent venue for The Trinity Forum Gala Dinner

A stellar conference programme will be bolstered by outstanding networking opportunities and locations.

The Opening Cocktail on 25 October – hosted by Hong Kong International Airport with spirits provided by Diageo – will be staged at The Murray Hotel’s luxury dining and drinks venue Popinjays, which offers spectacular Hong Kong skyline views. The venue is a contemporary rooftop restaurant and stylish bar with an impressive 420sq m wraparound terrace.

The following evening (26 October), the Gala Dinner will take place at the Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong, a luxury venue which soars over Victoria Harbour. The building and its facilities are described as “the crown jewel” of the Victoria Dockside arts and design district.

While The Trinity Forum conference will take place at Regala SkyCity Hotel on the grounds of HKIA, the host aims to ensure delegates will experience more of the Hong Kong city atmosphere by taking them to Hong Kong Island and Kowloon for the Opening Cocktail and Gala Dinner, respectively.
